Meet the Wunda Chair

About the chair

Wunda Chair Classes

Wunda Chair Classes

The Wunda Chair is one of Joseph Pilates' original apparatus designs — deceptively simple in appearance, relentless in demand. A compact, spring-loaded platform with a pedal that resists, assists, and challenges in equal measure depending on how it is used. It builds strength, stability, and control with a precision that larger apparatus cannot replicate.

Wunda Chair Classes

Small group work on one of the most honest pieces of apparatus in the studio. The chair does not allow compensation — it finds the imbalances, the weaknesses, and the patterns your body has been quietly relying on, and it asks you to do better. Classes at Uncoiled move slowly and with intention, using the resistance of the spring to build functional strength from the inside out. Modifications are provided for your body's individual needs.

Mat & Chair

Four formats. One through line — slow, intentional movement that builds a body that functions well in the studio and outside of it.Our assortment of mat, barre, yoga, and chair classes works the body against itself, moving deliberately through the Pilates method, the fundamentals of ballet training, and practiced at a pace that allows the body to arrive. The Wunda Chair — a compact, spring-loaded apparatus — brings a different kind of demand, finding imbalances and the fundamentals of ballet training asking the body to correct them with precision.

All four formats include modifications for your body's individual needs. None of them are about intensity for its own sake.

Mat Pilates

The foundation of the Pilates method, exactly as it was intended. Mat class at Uncoiled moves slowly and deliberately, building strength from the center out and training the body to function the way it was designed to. Modifications are provided for your body's individual needs — the work meets you where you are and asks more of you from there. Challenging in the way that quiet work always is.

Barre

Rooted in the fundamentals of ballet training, refined for the way a body actually needs to move. Slow, intentional work at the rail — small movements with real demand, building stability, alignment, and functional strength in the muscles that support everything else you do. Modifications are provided for your body's individual needs so the work remains purposeful at every level.

Yoga

Deliberate movement, deliberate breath, deliberate stillness. Practiced at a pace that allows the body to actually arrive in each position — not chase the next one. Modifications are provided for your body's individual needs, making the practice as functional and accessible as it is challenging. The work is quiet. The results are not.
